Brynn: "A bit about the motivation behind this self portrait:

Having struggled with mental illness throughout many stages of my life, I have learned that being gentle with myself can help lighten some of the darkness. Mental illness can bring on feelings of shame, guilt, and self loathing - but choosing to have compassion, love, and acceptance for yourself, and trusting that those dark feelings will eventually dissipate, can ease the burden of depression. Sometimes we need to extend a metaphorical rose to ourselves ♥  “
